THE FOUNDATION QUARTER HORSES WERE FREAKS !!
There are not many stallions that are proven to reproduce
themselves while correcting the physical flaws of the mare.
These stallions are referred to by the AQHA as “freaks”.
This is not used as a derogatory term, but rather as a
compliment towards the stallion that has such an impact on
his “get” that he is uncommon in his reproduction ability.
Divine Coosa is that rare stallion that is a proven freak in
his ability to sire colts and fillies that have his perfect
conformation and versatility.
The 19 AQHA
“foundation” stallions ( Wimpy, Three Bars, Peppy, King,
Leo, Poco Bueno, and so on ) that were selected by a
committee of knowledgeable horsemen in 1940 and wanted
stallions that were conformational correct and showed
versatility in performance, along with the ability to pass
these physical traits on to their offspring.. These horses
are referred to as “freaks” by AQHA historians that explain
in detail how rare these traits are:
The most
important trait used when these stallions were selected was
conformation, as the selection committee understood that
without conformation you can not have versatility in
performance disciplines.. In other words;“Above all other
considerations PERFORMANCE DEPENDS ON CONFORMATION”, and, it
is the reason so much emphasis is placed on Halter or
Conformation class at every horse show regardless of stock
breed…. Without balance you won’t have a good cutting or
penning horse. Without proper leg position you won’t have a
horse capable of rolling back or quick turns. Too short a
back will result in a choppy ride that is uncomfortable for
the rider, and so on.
These 19 stallions and they’re
modern equals ALL share this same trait…Superior
conformation and disposition and the ability to pass this on
to their foals.
Other traits such as the size and
desire to be a reining, cutting, penning, western pleasure,
eventer or hunter depends as much on the individual horse as
the bloodline. Every quarter horse shares common ancestors
that possessed each of these abilities. It is the individual
horse that determines what they will excel at, DIVINE COOSA
HAS SIRED over 2 dozen foals that are now maturing and have
a variety of talents and likes. As of the end of 2008,
Divine Coosa and 5 of his “Get” have won 21 World or Reserve
World Championships and uncounted local, state and breed
championships and futurities.
We invite you to
closely inspect the pictures of his “babies” and judge for
yourself.. Many clinicians and judges have also judged Coosa
and his babies in and out of the show ring and are very
impressed with them all. Clinician Ryan Gingerich recently
purchased Divine Coosa’s oldest son “CJ” for his personal
use. And Richard Shrake, renowned clinician, AQHA World
Championship judge and performance thru conformation expert
has rated Coosa a “10” and says his name “should be elegant,
not divine.”!!
If you are serious about having a top
foal and potential World Champion choose Divine Coosa as the
next Sire for your foal(s)!! |
